REAL SCIENTISTS DON’T SETTLE

If someone claims to be committed to the scientific process and the spirit of perpetual enquiry can they ever “settle” with what they know? Clearly, not.

So the next time someone tries to shut you up by telling you that “the science is settled”, ask them if science ever settles. Ask them if knowledge ever settles.

It’s the favourite tactic of those who seek to silence the opposition using intimidation — like when a bunch of priests tried to bully Galileo into silence for suggesting the earth was not the centre of the universe.

Don’t fall for this trick. Speak up. Because science is on the side of those who refuse to settle with the status quo.
