Keep Calm And Analyse The Arguments

Reason in favour of Gay Marriage:

Same Sex Marriage should be legalised because
PREVENTING GAY COUPLES FROM MARRYING IS NOTHING BUT INTOLERANCE.

Argument in favour of Gay Marriage:

We should not be intolerant towards views simply because we do not agree with them. Therefore we should not prevent individuals from marrying simply because their views of marriage and sexuality are different from ours.

The Facts:

The reason to oppose the gay lobby is not simply because their ideas of marriage and sexuality are different. The reason to oppose the gay lobby is because their ideas of sexuality are harmful to gays themselves, and their idea of marriage compromises the wellbeing of children by denying them the right to both a Mum and a Dad.

To oppose ideas that are harmful and that compromise wellbeing is not intolerance; it is common sense.

The Real Issues:

The gay lobby likes to shut down opposing voices on grounds of bigotry, hate-speech and intolerance. They do this so that people are demotivated to actually investigate the issue for themselves; after all, nobody wants to be thought of as being a bigot, a hater, and intolerant. But when you stand up to the gay lobby, when you refuse to cower to their pressure tactics, and when you examine the issue for what it really is, you begin to see not only the shallowness of their arguments, but also the potential danger it holds for Australian society as a whole. And that’s what the gay lobby does not want you to see.

Conclusion:

Opposing same sex marriage is not being intolerant to gay couples. They are human beings who have rights. And those rights include the right not to be discriminated against on grounds of their sexuality. But at the same time, this does not mean they have the right to change the definition of marriage for all Australians. Neither does it mean that they are at liberty to deny children the right to having both a Mum and a Dad.
